Back pain (also known "dorsalgia") is pain felt in the back that may originate from the muscles, nerves, bones, joints or other structures in the spine.
The pain may have a sudden onset or it can be a chronic pain, it can be felt constantly or intermittently, stay in one place or refer or radiate to other areas. It may be a dull ache, or a sharp or piercing or burning sensation. The pain may be felt in the neck (and might radiate into the arm and hand), in the upper back, or in the low back, (and might radiate into the leg or foot), and may include symptoms other than pain, such as weakness, numbness or tingling.
Back pain is one of humanity's most frequent complaints. In the U.S., acute low back pain (also called lumbago) is the fifth most common reason for all physician visits. About nine out of ten adults experience back pain at some point in their life, and five out of ten working adults have back pain every year.

Back Pain Upon Waking Up - What You Can Do About It

Low back pain on waking up is a common problem. There are only two things that can cause your low back to hurt more when you wake up, as if you went to bed.

The two things that can cause this problem are:

1) your mattress

2) The position you sleep in, or both.

? If your mattress is approaching ten years old, then it is probably worn out and must be replaced. It does not matter how much you spent on the mattress, most spring mattresses are worn out in less than ten years regardless of what the seller told you. Once they are worn, they must be replaced or you will continue to hurt.

Even if the mattress is too soft, it can cause the same problem. While the mattress does not have to be rock hard, it does have on the company to support you properly. If you suspect the mattress then chances are it is time to replace it.

Before you do this, you must be sure that you are not always in a bad sleeping posture. There are some common things people do with the fact that the tissue under increased stress. If you sleep on your side or back those two positions are good if done properly.

If you sleep on your side there is a common thing that causes a problem. If your top leg Moving it to the lower leg. Then the top-leg needs. This suggests a turn in your low back and pelvis. To twisted for eight hours is what causes you to wake up hurt.

To resolve this problem, put a nice thick cushion before the lower leg, so when you reach the top-leg forward it has something to rest on and not drop down. This prevents the twist and you wake up feeling better. If the mattress is a problem that you might still wake up hurt.

If you lay flat on his back and hurt you wake up, you must have a thick pillow under the knees. This is the stress off the low back. For some people on your back with legs straight puts too much stress on the tissue of the lower back and pelvis. This fix works for most people, unless the mattress is a problem.

never sleep on your stomach. Sleeping on your stomach will always cause problems somewhere. This is not the case in your low back, then it will be in your neck or upper back. It is not a question of will they occur, it is only a question of when.

To this habit only a large cushion in front of you and you in the back or one on each side of you to prevent you from rolling either toward your belly. This will help to break the habit of sleeping on the stomach.
